Immune System and Why it's Your First Defense Against Invasion

The immune system became a household word in 2020. I bet a lot of people had no idea what it was before it became so important. But thanks to Covid, we now hear about it multiple times a day.

However, I still feel that the message is somehow diluted and the discussion focuses mainly on how to protect yourself from pathogens rather than building your immunity to be impenetrable.

This article is not about hand washing, it’s about thriving in all conditions. Once you accept that thriving is possible you will realize that boosting immune system is not that difficult. From lifestyle changes to immune boosters – you can do it all.

It is very important to know what the immune system is to understand how it can affect your life.

The immune system consists of body organs, cells, proteins: it’s very large. It’s in your nose, on your skin, in your gut, in your mouth, everywhere in your body.

Your brain gets protection from your immune system against pathogenic attack – so there is a special mechanism for that!

To function properly, your immune system has to recognize pathogens and distinguish them from your own healthy body cells.

Food sensitivities, inflammations, psychosomatic conditions, headaches, etc. can all be an indication of a weakened immune system. So, first of all, you must know how to recognize a chronic condition.

When you’re healthy, this is what your immune system does:

  • Your skin secretes  a special oil with bacteria-killing abilities
  • Your intestinal tract consists of a protective mucosal lining and lots of beneficial bacteria
  • Your stomach secretes a special acid that kills most pathogenic bacteria

If you are not feeling well, it means some of those processes are not working properly. You can recognize that something is wrong and take care of it because most of the time it’s not being taken care of on its own.

If you have been experiencing indigestion, headaches, acid reflux, fatigue, and other obviously unhealthy symptoms for longer than 6 months, it means that your situation is chronic.

Chronic conditions are not healed by pharmaceutical medications; they can only alleviate symptoms while the chronic condition continues progressing.  If your condition is acute, like an infection, it is wise to take a medical route, however, most of the time acute conditions are the result of a chronically unhealthy lifestyle.

Many people with a low immune system also suffer from adrenal fatigue, and it’s worth it to check out:

Please let me know if you have any questions after you look into it.

For faster results, you can check my favorite protocol for the immune system Immune Health – Cold and Flu Support. It is helpful even if you decide to go for the Influenza vaccination, as in that case you need some support to maintain your healthy microbiome through the vaccination period.

So, to live a healthy life, you have to evaluate your lifestyle and figure out what is going on that brings you down.
